Spring Cooking Classes - Kids Cooking Creole
Calling all young chefs! Get ready for fun-filled days of cooking, learning and laughter! Combining an appreciation for fresh ingredients, a history of Creole cooking and simple recipes, young people follow instruction from GIANNA CHACHERE with Kitchen Assistant RETIBA HEGAZZI, NOCCA Culinary Arts student and Chopped Junior 2017 champion
WHO: Kids Cooking Creole is available to girls and boys in 2 age groups - ages 5-7 and ages 8-11

WHEN: Four part series 4PM to 5:30PM Tuesdays - March 14, 21, 28, and April 4, 2023

This is a hands-on cooking program which explores history, community, science and math while using cooking as our focal point!Your child can enjoy a cooking class where they learn the basics of Creole cooking and the importance of fresh ingredients with an appreciation for their community

INSTRUCTORS:
GIANNA CHACHERE is a Native New Orleanian with extensive experience teaching cooking to adults and children in various settings, including adult programs in New Orleans/New York, at Wingspan Arts, an after-school program in New York City and a program created by Gianna in Los Angeles entitled Sprout and Skillet. A thesis away from a Masters degree in Food Studies from New York University, Gianna is passionate about food and cooking and enjoys sharing that passion through teaching. Gianna had the great pleasure of briefly coaching Retiba Hegazzi prior to her 2017 champion win in Food Network's Chopped Junior. Currently, RETIBA HEGAZZI is a NOCCA Culinary Arts student and cooks alongside her father, Egyptian-born Chef Khaled Hegazzi of Sittoo’s Kitchen
