TONIGHT MARE…
Tiana Hux and The New Quorum (TNQ) present “Tonight Mare,” an evening of song, memory and melodrama! Tiana Hux, vocalist/performer of Malevitus and MC Sweet Tea, joins forces with vocalist/songwriter Carmela Rappazzo for an intimate “family” gathering of music and memories. Working in the cabaret tradition weaving music and memories, they unpack the family drama looking back at world travels with patriarch, husband and father, Enzo Russo, on what would have been his 80th birthday. Featured performers include Tiana Hux with Joe Cabral (The Iguanas) and Jonathan Freilich (The New Orleans Klezmer All Stars) and Carmela Rapazzo with Russel Welch and Chris Beroes-Haigis. Guests are invited to come together to celebrate and reminisce about days gone by. The evening ends with a dance set (audience participation encouraged) featuring all performers.
This is Ms. Hux and the New Quorum’s 2nd production reuniting after sold out performances in January/June 2019 of “A Day Late and A Dollar Short,” an immersive music/dance narrative set in a Storyville brothel written/directed by Ms. Hux with Sarah Inman and the cast.
Tonight Mare is a multi-sensual experience within the intimacy of a 19th century Esplanade Avenue mansion. Admission includes a light buffet and classic cocktails in the courtyard.

Marcus Bronson originally from Massachusetts moved to New Orleans in 1996 to pursue music and art. He's been a cook, worked on Mardi Gras floats, antiques and sound and lights for local clubs and companies. With music being his real passion he's always been in bands. After being in a number of original rock bands as a bass player, he found a group of friends that became Malevitus.
Joe Cabral is a multi- instrumentalist living in New Orleans. A founding member of the Iguanas, he plays in many other ensembles including the legendary Valparaiso Men’s Chorus.
For 35 years Jonathan Freilich has played guitar and composed for legends, equally worthy lesser knowns, and escaped intact from some of the world’s great festivals. Notable work includes 4 operas, a small, scalable hillock of art music, art songs, horn and string arrangements, and keeping some unusual bands together, while the rest remains shrouded in legend and mythology. It’s all mainly about meaning and the significance of music in human life and, details are compiled in corners of the net, (but he’d rather you spent the time talking to the living, off screen).
